Características del tejido y los hilos.

El percal es el tipo de tejido de estructura más básica, 100% algodón.

Tejido en el que, para su fabricación, se entrecruza un hilo a lo ancho del tejido y un hilo a lo largo y así sucesivamente, en todo el proceso de tejeduría.

Es un tejido de estructura regular, que destaca por su tacto natural, resistencia y excelente transpirabilidad.

La calidad de un tejido está directamente relacionada tanto con la calidad del hilo como con la densidad del tejido, que es la cantidad de hilos al ancho y largo del tejido.

La calidad de la ropa de cama será más alta cuanto mayor número de hilos tenga la tela aunque no es el único factor, también es importante la calidad del hilo, los procesos de fabricación, etc.

Internacionalmente la densidad de un tejido viene definida por el número de hilos al ancho y largo del tejido que hay en una pulgada cuadrada (1 pulgada equivale a 2,54 cm.).

Los tejidos con una densidad a partir de 180 hilos (por pulgada cuadrada) son considerados tejidos de gama superior.

* Cuando aparece el número de hilos por pasadas de trama y urdimbre suele poner por ejemplo 30/30, esto significa que al tejer en el telar se entrecruzan 30 hilos en horizontal (trama) y 30 en vertical (urdimbre).

* Los 180 hilos por pulgada o más, se relaciona directamente con la suaviedad y la calidad. Cuantos más hilos por pulgada tiene el tejido,  más finos han de ser y esto determina  la suavidad de la sábana.

Esto es así, porque al tejer, es decir entrecruzar los hilos de la trama con los de la urdimbre se produce volumen en el tejido, cuanto más finos sean los hilos, memos volumen se produce y más suave y ligero resulta el tejido final.

Condiciones de Lavado

	Temperatura máxima 40 grados. Lavado, aclarado y centrifugado cortos y suave con centrifugado reducido.
	No utilizar lejía, ni blanqueantes similares, totalmente prohibido.
	Lavado en seco, puede emplearse cualquier tipo de disolvente mineral y percloroetileno. El lavado debe ser suave, con precaución y el centrifugado en caso de máquina reducido.
	Secadora suave.
	Temperatura de plancha media.
